Middy Potter's show "Vessels" opens Friday, March 30, 7-10 pm. In his featured show at the gallery, he is exploring several forms a vessel can take. He's made abstract, brightly colored sculptures from thin shell concrete and glass, a carved granite bowl-der, a carved chunk of tree and a jaunty bust-self-portrait. The self-portrait perfectly captures Middy. Its rough-carved surface, subtle staining and devilish smirk make you catch yourself smiling back.
