What a Treat! Alvey Jones' much awaited show opens this Friday, September 10 from 7 - 10 pm. There will also be a free wine-tasting provided by Vinology at the reception. Alvey undertook a year-long study of Vermeer paintings, reproducing this Dutch master's paintings to learn as much as possible, and came up with a cool concept for his show of painting contemporary women, in daily attire in their natural settings in a similar position with as similar a lighting situation to Vermeer's as possible. As I lit the show today, it was hard to keep my eyes on my job and off of Alvey's work!
